The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District is available to answer Regulatory program permitting questions at the Matanuska-Susitna Borough’s one-stop permit center beginning Thursday, April 6.

The permit center is located upstairs in the Dorothy Swanda Jones Building, 350 E. Dahlia Ave., Palmer.

Regulatory staff will be on-site every Thursday throughout the season. While not necessary, appointments can be scheduled based on staff availability.

To schedule a meeting with USACE at the Mat-Su Borough’s office, call 907-753-2712, prior to Thursday’s office hours. USACE increased its public availability to improve the quality of service provided to the local community.

Under the Regulatory program, the USACE is responsible for permitting fill projects located in waters of the U.S., including wetlands, as well as permitting projects involving structures or work in navigable waters.

Residents planning a project that may require a permit to discharge fill into waters of the U.S., including wetlands, are encouraged to consult with USACE to discuss permitting needs, the permit process and/or drop off an application.

All correspondence may be mailed to: USACE, Regulatory Division, P.O. Box 6898, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK 99506; emailed to regpagemaster@usace.army.mil;  or dropped off with a Regulatory specialist during office hours.
