Permit Application Public Notices

Public involvement is a key element of the Corps’ permit review process. During an application review, the USACE, Regulatory Division considers the views of other federal, state and local agencies, Native American tribes, interest groups, and the general public. The results of this careful public interest review are fair and equitable decisions that allow reasonable use of private property, infrastructure development, and growth of the economy, while offsetting the authorized impacts to the waters of the United States. This is accomplished through the posting of a Public Notice on the USACE, Regulatory Division's website and soliciting comments.

The USACE, Regulatory Division publishes monthly a list of individual permits issued, denied, or pending during the previous month. The list will identify each action by public notice number, name of applicant, and brief description of activity involved. It will also note the relevant environmental documents and the Statements of Findings (SOF) or Records of Decision (ROD) that are available upon written request through the FOIA process and, where applicable, upon the payment of administrative fees.

Special Public Notices

These are public notices that involve the Regulatory program but which are generally not limited to one particular project. These would include public notices for the establishment or modification of Restricted Areas/Danger Zones, issuance/re-issuance of General Permits (Regional General Permits or Nationwide Permits), changes to guidance and policies, etc.

  • POA-2013-30, Hawk Inlet

  • POA-2013-33, Tongass Narrows

    Expiration date: 3/25/2013

    Marble Island, LLC's stated purpose is to access a rock quarry and to develop a site to place overburden from off-site projects. The applicant is requesting a Department of the Army permit to place a total of 4,005 cubic yards of fill material into 1.66-acres of waters of the U.S. that include wetlands and a 158-square feet area of intermittent streams to place off-site overburden and to mechanically land clear and excavate 0.28 acres of wetlands to develop a rock quarry site.   • POA-2005-1295-M9, Beaufort Sea

    Pioneer Natural Resources Alaska, Incorporated's stated purpose is to perform maintenance on the pipeline to support Oooguruk Development Project. Pioneer is requesting approval to perform necessary maintenance activities on the subsea portion of its subsea pipeline, currently approved for execution under grounded ice conditions in permit number POA-2005-1295, during summer open water seasons.   • POA-2013-38, Kanektok River

    Lower Kuskokwim School District's stated purpose is to renovate and make additions to the existing Quinhagak School facilities to accommodate current and projected student numbers and meet state education standards for facilities. Approximately 200 cubic yards of material will be excavated and 10,000 cubic yards of fill will be placed on 1.9 acres of palustrine emergent wetlands to construct the following school improvements: new school addition; relocated teacher housing; activity decks; tank farm and fence; water storage tank; relocated footbridge; boardwalks with excavation for drainage; soil stockpile area; culverts and drainage swale; and shipping container pad.   • POA-1986-95-M1, Sitkalidak Strait

    Expiration date: 3/18/2013

    City of Old Harbor's stated purpose is to provide safer runway conditions for increased runway use as defined in the “Airport Layout Plan Approval, Airspace Case 07AAL-203-NRA. The runway would also be expanded to accommodate larger aircraft predicted to be needed in the near future. The proposed work would extend the existing runway at the Old Harbor Airport. At present the runway is a 2,750-foot by 60-foot gravel runway. The extension would extend the runway 300-foot to the south and approximately 1700‑foot to the North. The work would include (a) placement of approx. 165,000 cubic yards (cy) of rock fill on approx. 2.5 acres of marine intertidal lands northeast of the end of the current runway, to include exterior armor rock; (b) placement of mixed fill (excess rock and organic soil) in 9.23 acres of terrestrial wetlands adjacent to the airfield; (c) filling of 2,011 linear feet of three stream channels (less than 1 acre total) adjacent to the airfield in the course of expanding the airfield prism.
