On August 22, 2025, the United States (U.S.) Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Alaska District published a public notice for Department of the Army (DA) permit number POA-2025-00252, Gastineau Channel for a DA permit application from Turnagain Marine Construction to construct a cruise ship dock and seawalk adjacent to downtown Juneau. The project site is located within Section 23, T. 41 S., R. 67 E., Copper River Meridian; USGS Quad Map Juneau B-2; Latitude 58.2978º N., Longitude 134.4135º W.; in Juneau, Alaska. To provide time for the completion of a Navigational Risk Assessment and ensure full public participation and comment the expiration is hereby extended to October 21, 2025.
