Thomas Johnston, Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, stated the purpose is remediation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) to improve water quality on site of the Anchorage Airport Snow Disposal Facility before entry into stormwater drainage infrastructure. PROPOSED WORK: The applicant is requesting authorization for the replacement of storm water drainage infrastructure, and the installation of an activated carbon water treatment system, resulting in permanent impacts to 0.14 acre of wetland. Specifically, the project would include the removal of two existing, previously authorized manholes, and the installation new manholes with sluice gates. Fill placement would consist of approximately 177.8 cubic yards of coarse subbase aggregate, 36.7 cubic yards of class 1 rip rap, and 113.4 cubic yards of granular activated carbon. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plans and project narrative. (sheets 1 through 5). Please contact Drew E.
