Five Hills Military Training Center ribbon-cutting ceremony
Col. Christopher Lestochi, district commander, provides remarks Feb.2 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Armed Forces of Mongolia’s Five Hills Military Training Center. The ceremony officially turned over renovated barracks, a dining facility, and shower and laundry facility. The Alaska District managed the construction of these projects. Furthermore, remaining development will be complete by November 2015 and will include a new multipurpose training facility, vehicle garage, field latrine, renovated field dining facility, and several electricity and water infrastructure improvements. The U.S. Department of State’s Global Peace Operations Initiative is funding the construction projects at the center. Piper Anne Wind Campbell, U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia, and Lt. Gen. Tserendejidiin Byambajav, Chief of the General Staff, along with several other honorable guests participated in the ceremony.
