Alaska logistics team covers expansive territory, tackles unique mission

David Williams, project manager in the Civil Works Branch, is coordinating a charter aircraft with the logistics team so he can conduct a planning charrette in the nearby communities. Charters allow for flexibility in schedule and can be a cost saver when weather becomes a factor. Flying to some locations in Alaska can be the equivalent to traveling from the northern border of Minnesota to Missouri to the western coast of Southern California because Alaska is about one-fifth the size of the continental U.S.
