MEDIA ADVISORY: Corps schedules media opportunity about Pebble Project

WHAT: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District will host a media availability session to:
• Provide a general status update and path forward for the Pebble Project Environmental Impact Statement;
• Explain applicable regulatory authorities, processes and milestones.

WHO: Participants representing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District are Shane McCoy, program manager for the Pebble Project EIS, and John Budnik, public affairs specialist for the Public Affairs Office.

WHEN: January 8 at 11 a.m. (Alaska Standard Time)

WHY: The goal of this information session is to facilitate understanding of the Corps’ regulatory roles and responsibilities. Currently, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District is preparing the Pebble Project Environmental Impact Statement. This document will serve as the basis for the Corps and other federal agencies to evaluate the federal permit application for the proposed mine. For details, visit: https://pebbleprojecteis.com/.

HOW: This hour-long event will be conducted as a teleconference with time allotted for a briefing, followed by a question and answer session. Please note that a limited number of lines may be available, so access will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
