Mr. Steve Connelly'S (Eklutna, Inc) stated purpose is to remove the functionally obsolete Lower Eklutna River Dam, which would restore some natural stream functions currently inhibited by the dam’s presence. The project site is located within Sections 29 and 30, T. 16 N., R. 1 E., Seward Meridian; USGS Quad Map Anchorage B-7; Latitude 61.44954º N., Longitude 149.32979º W.; Municipality of Anchorage; near Eagle River, Alaska. The impacts from the proposed project would be 2400 cubic yards (CY) of temporary fill into 0.74-acre of waters of the U.S. (WOUS) for the various work areas, 186.1 CY of temporary diversion structures, and 21,000 CY of relocated sediment downstream of the dam.
