Mr. Lawrence Colby (Seward Wildlife Cruises) stated purpose is to remove sediment from the project area to provide safe navigation of all vessels, including Major Marine tour boats and to minimize concerns over groundings of larger vessels which require deeper mooring basins. The project site is located within Section 3, T. 1 S., R. 1W., Seward Meridian; USGS Quad Map AK-Seward-A-7; Latitude 60.120536º N., Longitude 149.438506º W.; Seward Harbor, at Hotel 360; Resurrection Bay; Kenai Peninsula Borough; Seward, Alaska. PROPOSED WORK: The applicant proposes to dredge up to 7,600 cubic yards (CY) of bottom sediment, in the form of silt, sand, and gravel, using either a clamshell dredge or a hydraulic excavator from below the mean high water mark of the Seward Harbor, which is part of Resurrection Bay (MHWM, 9.71 feet above the mean lower low water mark of 0 feet elevation), a Navigable Water of the United States (U.S.).
