Ms. Blanca Hernandez stated the purpose is to provide residential parking and a trail to the adjacent parcel.
The project site is located within Section 6, T. 56 S., R. 64 E., Copper River Meridian; USGS Quad Map AK-Sitka A-4; Latitude 57.04658º N., Longitude 135.29193º W.; at 1618 Sawmill Creek Road, Sitka, Alaska.
PROPOSED WORK: The applicant proposes to dredge up to 12 cubic yards of native substrate from below the mean high water mark (MHWM, +9.1 feet above mean lower low water) of Jamestown Bay and to discharge 40 cubic yards (CY) of precast block, 80 CY of two inch drain rock, and 700 CY of graded sand, gravel and shot rock up to 12 inches in diameter, including the 12 CY of dredged material, into an 0.03 acre area below the high tide line (HTL, +12.7 feet above mean lower low water) of Jamestown Bay, which is a navigable water of the U.S., for the purpose of creating uplands for residential parking. Work is scheduled to begin the week of July 10, 2017, and would take approximately two weeks to complete. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-3), dated March 23, 2017, and (sheet 4 of 4), dated March 27, 2017.
