James Hildebrandt (Arctic Pipe Insulation) stated the purpose is to increase storage space for Oil Company Tubular Goods (OCTG) pipe storage.
The project site is located within Section 18, T. 10 N., R. 15 E., Umiat Meridian; USGS Quad Map Beechey Point A-3; Latitude 70.21852º N., Longitude 148.43437º W.; 97 South Spine Road Tract 19A & 20A, in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.
The applicant proposes to discharge 10,500 cubic yards (cy) of non-frost susceptible gravel and 35 cy of topsoil into 2.11 acre of palustrine wetlands in order to expand an existing pad in support of the oil industry. There will be two new fill locations which will make the total fill into a rectangular shape; one addition will be 462 feet long by 126 feet wide and the second area will be 186 feet long by 180 feet wide. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-4), dated July 18, 2017.
