Mr. Michael Rogers (Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation) stated the purpose is to upgrade the water treatment plant facilities to capture solids from the waste filter backwash water from the hospital water treatment plant and retain them until they are removed periodically for disposal at the city landfill.
The project site is located at Latitude 58.996945º N., Longitude -158.541389º W.; 6000 Kanakanak Road, City of Dillingham, Alaska.
The applicant proposes to construct an earthen pond for receiving waste filter backwash water from the hospital water treatment plant, filling an area of 1.12-acres with approximately 4600-cubic yards of clean fill from the local borrow pit or shot rock pit (both of which are used by the local municipality and the State of Alaska in road and airport projects). All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-10), dated December 27, 2017.
