Dr. Paul Sayer, with Dry Gulch states that the project purpose is to conduct commercial placer gold mining. Work being proposed includes to discharge approximately 4,345,701 cubic yards of overburden and non-pay material into 49 acres of wetlands to conduct mechanical land clearing and reclamation in association with a conventional hillside placer mining operation. The total size of the operation is 87 acres: of this, 49 acres are wetlands, and 38 acres are uplands. Details on the proposed modification are included on the enclosed plans (sheets 1-4), dated February 5, 2020.
