The applicant Mr. Carl Uchytil, City & Borough of Juneau, Docks and Harbors has stated the purpose is to renovate an existing, heavily used municipal boat harbor to extend its life, improve safety, and increase harbor efficiency. The project site is located within Section 22, T. 41 S., R. 67 E., Copper River Meridian; USGS Quad Map Juneau B-2; Latitude 58.307612º N., Longitude -134.437208º W.; Aurora Harbor, in Juneau, Alaska. PROPOSED WORK: The applicant is proposing to conduct the following work:
The installation of:
• One (1) 16’x80’ approach dock
• One (1) 10’x338’ headwalk float
• One (1) 4’x42’ finger float at Main Float G
• One (1) new 10’x278’ Mainwalk Float I, including six (6) new 6’x42’ and six (6) new
6’x38’ finger floats
• One (1) new 10’x285’ Mainwalk Float J, including seven (7) 4’x32’ finger floats
• Six (6) new 12.75-inch diameter piles
• Forty-two (42) new 16-inch diameter piles
• Refurbished 7’x80’ aluminum gangway
• The placement of 215 cubic yards of armor rock into 0.02 acres of tidal waters to
construct a concrete abutment
• Ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCI)-protected electrical systems
• LED fixtures
• A dry fire suppression system and new fire extinguishers and life rings
