Robert Anderson, stated the purpose is to construct a two-finger boat dock to accommodate up to three (3) vessels. PROPOSED WORK The project would consist of installing a new boat dock to accommodate three (3) vessels. Construction would include a 60-foot aluminum gangway with a 15 cubic yard concrete abutment, 750 square feet of wood float, five (5) new 12-inch diameter steel piles, 2,000 cubic yards of dredging, 170 cubic yards of stacked rock wall, and 150 cubic yards of rip rap armor rock. The dredging would be limited to -8 mean lower low water (MLLW) and consist of beach gravel. A track mounted hydraulic excavator would load the dredged material into a 10-yard dump truck, where the material would be transported to the Shaan Seet 62 pit waste site on Port St. Nicholas Road approximately two (2) miles from the project location. An 80-lineal foot stacked rock wall and 40-linear foot rip rap armored slope would be constructed on the east side of the site to provide erosion protection. A crane/spud barge would be used for the pile driving. Piles would be started with an ICE 216B vibratory hammer with a maximum vibrations per minute (VPM) of 1,750 and 50 tons of driving force. If embedment is not achieved, an ICEI-19 impact hammer with 200 tons of driving force would be utilized to finish installation. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-5), dated October 27, 2024.
