Lower Kuskokwim School District's stated purpose is to renovate and make additions to the existing Quinhagak School facilities to accommodate current and projected student numbers and meet state education standards for facilities. Approximately 200 cubic yards of material will be excavated and 10,000 cubic yards of fill will be placed on 1.9 acres of palustrine emergent wetlands to construct the following school improvements: new school addition; relocated teacher housing; activity decks; tank farm and fence; water storage tank; relocated footbridge; boardwalks with excavation for drainage; soil stockpile area; culverts and drainage swale; and shipping container pad.
