ENI U.S. Operating Company, Incorporated's stated purpose is to maintain sufficient draft for barge and boat landing and to maintain cover on subsea pipeline. ENI is proposing to conduct annual maintenance dredging for 10 years at its Nikaitchuq Development site to maintain sufficient draft for barge and boat landings and to cover the subsea pipeline. Proposed Work: To dredge approximately 7,100 cubic yards of sediment per year on 6.1 acres of marine waters substrate, of which 0.92-acre would be dredged from two OPP’s barge/boat ramps and 0.92-acre would be dredged from two SID’s barge/boat ramps. Dredged material would be placed on 4.61 acres along the 3.8-mile subsea pipeline between SID and OPP. Fill would be placed to restore 6 feet of cover material on top of the scoured pipeline (permit POA-2005-1243 requirement). Dredged material not used to cover the scoured pipeline would be deposited on areas approved for brine sediment and reuse either as bulk fill or in sand bags.
