UIC Construction, LLC stated purpose is to update the boat launch and install a dock for the residents of Barrow. A breakwater is necessary to protect the boat launch facilities from forces generated by ice sheets that form in the North Salt Lagoon. Construct a 16 x 112 foot boat launch ramp; install an 8 x 110 foot floating dock; excavate 8,131 cubic yards of sandy silt from the North Salt Lagoon and place the silt back into 1.87 acres of the North Salt Lagoon to construct a 480 x 20 foot breakwater; place additional excavated material on existing driveway to boat ramp and till with a liquid polymer Permazyme. Project start date is either March or April 2014 and Permazyme would be applied to the driveway and tilled into place after breakup in June 2014. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-7), dated October 24, 2013.
