PURPOSE: The applicant, the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) stated purpose is to relieve traffic congestion and improve
facilities by providing additional snow removal space as well as new facilities for recycling and cover for the hazardous
household waste disposal bins, and allow for grade-separated disposal bins and easier disposal of large items.
PROPOSED WORK: Discharge 11,150 cubic yards of gravel and sand, (clean fill material), into 1.45 acres of wetlands to expand
the existing Farmer’s Loop West Transfer Station. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan
(sheets 1-3), dated 1/19/2016 and 2/23/2016.
