The Alaska District Regulatory Division is divided into two Branches: North Branch and South Branch. The above map and below descriptions depicts the area of responsibility for each branch.
The North Branch has two Sections: the North Section and the North Central Section. The North Section primarily handles all projects north of the Alaska Range not accessible by road, and the North Slope projects. The North Central Section handles projects around the Fairbanks Area as well as all road projects along the Dalton Highway to Dead Horse, AK, the Richardson Highway to the Glenn Highway, and the Alaska Highway (ALCAN) to the Canadian border.
The South Branch has two Sections: The South Section and the South east Section. The South Section handles projects within the Anchorage bowl, and the Matanuksa-Susitna Borough (Mat-Su), as well as the Ketchikan area. The South East Section, which handles southeastern Alaska, the Kenai Peninsula and the Aleutian Chain.
