Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite, commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and 54th U.S. Army Chief of Engineers, signed the Unalaska (Dutch Harbor) Channels Chief's Report in Washington, D.C. The signing progresses the proposed project to Congress for authorization.
The SM-1A Nuclear Power Plant is located in central Alaska, approximately 6 miles south of Delta Junction on the Fort Greely Military Reservation. Learn more about the ongoing efforts to decommission and dismantle the SM-1A deactivated nuclear power plant at Fort Greely here.
