Permit Application Public Notices

Public involvement is a key element of the Corps’ permit review process. During an application review, the USACE, Regulatory Division considers the views of other federal, state and local agencies, Native American tribes, interest groups, and the general public. The results of this careful public interest review are fair and equitable decisions that allow reasonable use of private property, infrastructure development, and growth of the economy, while offsetting the authorized impacts to the waters of the United States. This is accomplished through the posting of a Public Notice on the USACE, Regulatory Division's website and soliciting comments.

The USACE, Regulatory Division publishes monthly a list of individual permits issued, denied, or pending during the previous month. The list will identify each action by public notice number, name of applicant, and brief description of activity involved. It will also note the relevant environmental documents and the Statements of Findings (SOF) or Records of Decision (ROD) that are available upon written request through the FOIA process and, where applicable, upon the payment of administrative fees.

Special Public Notices

These are public notices that involve the Regulatory program but which are generally not limited to one particular project. These would include public notices for the establishment or modification of Restricted Areas/Danger Zones, issuance/re-issuance of General Permits (Regional General Permits or Nationwide Permits), changes to guidance and policies, etc.

  • POA-2011-1182, Chukchi Sea

    Expiration date: 8/26/2013

    UIC Construction's stated purpose is to construct a 100-man housing camp for a variety of Barrow area projects. Prosposed work: Construct a 2.87 acre gravel pad by placing 22,000 cubic yards of fill and construct a 1.78 acre road placing 7,800 cubic yards of gravel fill. The gravel fill will be obtained from the existing Barrow material pit.   • POA-2008-1257, Allison Creek

    Expiration date: 8/26/2013

    Copper Valley Electric Association, Incorporated's stated purpose is to enable their company to reduce its dependence on diesel generation and transmit hydroelectric power to the existing switchyard. Proposed Work: To permanently discharge 1,705 cubic yards (cy) of fill material into 0.74-acre of waters of the U.S., and temporarily discharge 1,730 cy of fill material into 0.58-acre of waters of the U.S. in order to construct the Allison Creek Hydroelectric Project. The project components include a diversion structure, penstock, powerhouse, and transmission line.   • POA-2013-389, Sagavanirktok River

    Expiration date: 8/1/2013

    Carlile Transportation Systems, Inc.'s stated purpose is to develop a pad in support of their business operations. The pad would be utilized for storage of containers and equipment until a multi-bay warehouse can be constructed. Proposed work: Place up to 18, 368 cubic yards of gravel into 6.47 acres of jurisdictional wetlands for the development of a work pad to house a multi-bay warehouse.
