  • POA-2004-1223, Yukon River

    Expiration date: 7/23/2015

    The applicant, Mr. Brett Nelson and the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities' stated purpose is to provide safe and reliable air transportation to the community of Pilot Station. PROPOSED WORK: The project is to relocate the Pilot Station Airport to resolve current safety and operational issues as the airport and improve the runway, apron, and other facilities. The project would construct a 4,000-foot by 75-foot runway with a 4,600-foot by 150-foot runway safety area; a 218,000-square foot apron aviation support area and snow removal equipment building pad; a 463-foot by 50-foot taxiway; and a 2.8-mile long, two-lane, all weather gravel access road. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan,(sheets 1-9), dated June 16, 2015.   • POA-2005-1406-M2, Anchorage Bay

    City of Chignik's stated purpose is to expand the existing harbor facilities within the Chignik harbor basin to meet the needs of the City of Chignik and regional communities. The City of Chignik proposes to discharge 7,600 cubic yards of gravel fill in 0.34 acre below the high tide line (approximate elevation +11.2 feet above the 0.0 foot contour) of Anchorage Bay to facilitate installation of a new float system, expansion of the existing float system, construction of a new bulkhead (sheet pile) dock, boat lift, and a boat washdown and water treatment system.   • POA-2015-388, Lake Hood_PN

    Expiration date: 7/24/2015

    Lake Spenard Airpark, LLC; Mr. Steve Williams' stated purpose is to construct hanger space near the airport. PROPOSED WORK: The applicant proposes to construct two aircraft hangers with 3 units each. The applicant would remove the existing soils and replace the substrate with suitable building materials. The applicant would place 15,500 cubic yards (cy) of MOA Type II (Sandy Gravel), 520 cy of MOA Type IIA (-3" Sandy Gravel), 130 cy of leveling course, and 110 cy of asphalt over 1.55 acres of land, of which 1.1 acres would be wetlands. The dimensions of the pad would be 255 feet wide by 265 feet long. The development would also require removal of an existing driveway, relocation of existing water and sewer mains, installation of water, sewer, telephone, power, and natural gas to the hangers. All materials that would be removed would be hauled to either the Airport Dump site or the Sand Lake Dump site.   • POA-2015-256, Cook Inlet

    Expiration date: 7/21/2015

    Hilcorp Alaska, LLC's stated purpose is to: “Construct a road-accessible drill pad and associated pipeline to safely drill into the Ninilchik Unit and produce and then transport natural gas from the Kalotsa Pad to processing facilities at SD Pad. Sales grade gas would then be transported from SD to the Kenai-Kachemak Pipeline where they will be taken to market.” Hilcorp Alaska, LLC is proposing to: Permanently discharge 22,541 cubic yards (cy) of clean gravel into 3.32 acres of waters of the United States (WOUS), including wetlands, for the construction of the Kalotsa Drill Pad and access road. The proposed drill pad would be 237’ wide by 339’ wide by 3’ high, underlain by geogrid material with 2:1 side slopes. The proposed road would be 3700’ long by 28’ wide at the base by 30” high, underlain by geogrid material with 2:1 side slopes. Permanently discharge 228 cy of native soils into 0.23 acres of waters of the United States (WOUS), including wetlands, to fill an existing man made drainage ditch that would return hydrology to a historic stream along the stream bluff. Temporarily side cast 1338 cy of native soils into 0.45 acres of waters of the United States (WOUS)., including wetlands, to construct a 1.1 mile long by 4’ wide by 3’ deep trench for the installation of two 6” diameter pipeline from the Kalotsa Pad to the existing Susan Dionne Pad. The material would be excavated from the proposed trench, temporarily side cast adjacent to the trench and then returned to the trench once the flowline is installed. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-18), dated March 13, 2015.

  • POA-2015-355 Gastineau Channel

    Expiration date: 7/21/2015

    Douglas Island Pink and Chum Inc.'s stated purpose is to remove sediment that has accumulated in the existing broodstock holding/saltwater rearing site for the Macaulay Salmon Hatchery. Douglas Island Pink and Chum Inc.'s requests authorization for the following work in navigable waters of the United States: Dredge 5,000 cubic yards of marine sediment from 0.73 acres below the mean high water mark (approximate elevation +15.4 feet above the 0.0 foot contour) (MHW) to provide sufficient water depth for juvenile salmon rearing and returning adult salmon staging prior to ascending the hatchery fish pass. The applicant is proposing to perform the dredging with a clam shell excavator. Dredge material would be deposited in a barge, with return flow, for transport to the proposed disposal site within Gastineau Channel. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-5), dated May 14, 2015.
