Permit Application Public Notices

Public involvement is a key element of the Corps’ permit review process. During an application review, the USACE, Regulatory Division considers the views of other federal, state and local agencies, Native American tribes, interest groups, and the general public. The results of this careful public interest review are fair and equitable decisions that allow reasonable use of private property, infrastructure development, and growth of the economy, while offsetting the authorized impacts to the waters of the United States. This is accomplished through the posting of a Public Notice on the USACE, Regulatory Division's website and soliciting comments.

The USACE, Regulatory Division publishes monthly a list of individual permits issued, denied, or pending during the previous month. The list will identify each action by public notice number, name of applicant, and brief description of activity involved. It will also note the relevant environmental documents and the Statements of Findings (SOF) or Records of Decision (ROD) that are available upon written request through the FOIA process and, where applicable, upon the payment of administrative fees.

Special Public Notices

These are public notices that involve the Regulatory program but which are generally not limited to one particular project. These would include public notices for the establishment or modification of Restricted Areas/Danger Zones, issuance/re-issuance of General Permits (Regional General Permits or Nationwide Permits), changes to guidance and policies, etc.

    Expiration date: 2/18/2015

    Mark Wiggin, Brooks Range Petroleum Corporation'S stated purpose is to develop a gravel pad and access road that will provide year round water for domestic (non-drilling) use in the development and operations of the Mustang project. The project site is located within Section 1, T. 10 N., R. 7 E., Umiat Meridian; USGS Quad Map Harrison Bay B-1; Latitude 70.2527º N., Longitude 150.2334º W.; Southern Miluveach Unit adjacent to the western boundary of the Kuparuk River Unit; North Slope Borough; approximately 15 miles east of Nuiqsut, Alaska, and 48 miles west of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. PROPOSED WORK: The placement of 33,600 cubic yards (cy) of clean fill material into 2.5 acres of jurisdictional wetlands to add a water pad and access road for the Mustang Development Project (MDP) completed in 2013. The access road would be 1000’ long x 38’- 46’ wide and require 8,800 cy of fill material in 0.83 acre of jurisdictional wetlands. 24,800 cy of fill material would be required for the 270’ x 270’ pad in 1.67 acres of jurisdictional wetlands. Material for the project has already been stockpiled in the gravel mine site at the MDP. If permitted construction would begin in the first quarter of 2015. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-4), dated October 15, 2014.

  • POA-2010-249, Zak Lake_PN

    Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF); Ryan Riddle's stated purpose is to improve mobility and safety for people and freight, and enhance access management along the Parks Highway. The project site is located within Section 7, of T. 17 N., R. 1 W., and Sections 9-12 of T. 17 N., R. 2 W., Seward Meridian; USGS Quad Map Anchorage C-7 and C-8; Latitude 61.5791º N., Longitude 149.5113º W. to Latitude 61.5826º N., Longitude 149.6319º W.; Parks Highway Mile Point 44.5 to 48.8, in Wasilla, Alaska. Proposed Work: The ADOT&PF proposes to discharge up to 14,453 cubic yards of fill into a total of 2.76 acres of wetlands in order to widen the Parks Highway, improve and extend frontage roads, and modify and relocate existing utilities. Roads that would be improved as part of this project, outside of the Parks Highway, include North Pacific Way, Stanley Road, West Machen Road, Museum Drive, and South Museum Place. Table 1 in the attached project plans outlines all acreages and volumes of fill. A new parallel, separate bridge would be constructed over the Alaska Railroad crossing at MP 46.5 (near Museum Drive), to accommodate additional northbound lanes. All work would be performed in accordance with the enclosed plan (sheets 1-18), dated July 25, 2014.
